One of the ideas I had when I first started Tampa Monitor was a way to review a meeting on a single page. The video, the transcript and the agenda all in one place. Some of the earliest posts on Tampa Monitor are hand created posts with a video embed and a copy of the agenda. Thatled to a journey through code to parse the agenda into machine-readable text and automation scripts to pull it all together for sharing. More recently that attention turned to the transcript and tying that to the video.
I wrote a little about it during Spring Break for Sunshine Week and quietly rolled it out last week at meetings.tampamonitor.com. I consciously launched this on a subdomain to keep it as a separate project from what ever Tampa Monitor evolves into.
I’ve started with 2026 meetings and will add new meetings as the transcript becomes available. Backfilling meetings is still part of the plan as time or budget allow.
This is very much still a work in progress but is at a point where I need feedback. Improper capitalizations, usability issues, accessibility concerns, missing context. How can it be better?
If you have feedback or you’d like to sponsor the work, please get in touch.
