Item 5 succeeded on first reading with a 4-3 vote. The Tampa Heights Neighborhood Association Board unanimously objected to the project as did the property owner directly to the north of the lot. There have been questions by Council and the public as to the proliferation of Planned Developments within the city and I found it interesting a representative of the property owner (and former city employee in Land Development) stated the purpose of of Planned Developments as being tailored to a project like this with an odd footprint. I hope Council takes that in advice at future Rezoning hearings where a Planned Development is proposed for a lot that isn’t oddly shaped or otherwise differentiated from most properties in the city.
